Together, We Rise Against Injustice.
Saint James Relief Fund is dedicated to eradicating slavery in Pakistan through support, advocacy, and awareness. Together, we stand for freedom and dignity for all.
Our Mission, Our Purpose
Saint James Relief Fund exists to bring freedom, dignity, and hope to persecuted families suffering under debt bondage and modern-day slavery in Pakistan. Through holistic rescue efforts, compassionate relief, and Christ-centered community support, we seek to break the cycle of bondage, restore human dignity, and help individuals and families walk into a future of freedom and flourishing.
The Saint James Approach is a multi-phase intervention framework—Rescue & Legal Liberation, Rehabilitation, Stabilization, and Long-Term Economic Empowerment—designed to permanently eliminate bonded labor dependency while restoring dignity, identity, and livelihood security. Our approach addresses the root causes of bondage: systemic marginalization and poverty. Our programs are designed to walk with families and ensure that they do not fall victim to exploitation again.

There is no short-term
solution to rebuilding lives.
The St. James approach is different- for a reason.
24 months of holistic care and support frees a family and secures the future.
Debt Forgiveness & Immediate Rescue
Phase 1
Most families are trapped in bondage because of an average debt of $1,000 USD — an amount that becomes impossible to repay under
exploitative conditions. We pay that debt in full and procure legal documentation of their release.
This is the first moment of their freedom — but it is only the beginning.
Phase 2
After release, families are brought directly to the Saint James Safe Home, a secure communal home where they can finally rest without fear.
At the safe house, they receive:
· Comfortable communal housing
· Necessary healthcare
· Fresh clothing and shoes
· Nutritious meals prepared daily
· Access to toys, books, and safe spaces for children
· Daily sermons, prayer, and pastoral care from Christian ministers
· Vocational training
· Security protection
· House staff, cooks, and cleaning support
This is a time of restoration, where body, mind, and spirit begin to heal.
Each family will have access to a Care Coordinator who connects them with resources for medical treatment, mental health, school enrollment for youth and more.
Safe Home Recovery & Holistic Care
Phase 3
To ensure long-term freedom, parents are supported by a dedicated Job Specialist who helps them secure safe, fair-paying employment.
There are two pathways:
1. Job Placement with vetted employers offering dignified wages and humane working conditions; or
2. Enterprise Creation, where Saint James Relief establishes small businesses in industries such as textiles, farming, or construction — providing stable, fair jobs for multiple families.
Economic empowerment is essential to breaking generational cycles of bondage.
Employment Pathways & Economic Empowerment
Transitional Minority Community Housing
Phase 4
Families live in communal faith-based housing alongside other believers who have also been delivered from bondage. Or, a family is placed in an apartment or single-family home, depending on availability.
This creates:
· Mutual support
· Prayer community
· A stabilizing environment during the transition to independence
Families remain here until they save enough to move into homes of their own. After job placement, St. James Relief assists families in securing a permanent living situation
Freedom Preservation & Emergency Support Fund
To keep families from ever being forced back into slavery, Saint James Relief maintains an Emergency Freedom Fund that assists with:
· Medical expenses
· Food insecurity
· Temporary housing support
· Basic living needs during hardship
Every family in the program remains eligible for this support.
This final safeguard ensures that freedom is permanent, not temporary. Freedom grants are given on a case-by-case basis, after an informal application is filed with a member of staff. The St. James leadership team in Pakistan will liase with leadership in the U.S. to approve and fund requests.
Our Proven Path to Liberty
From the moment of rescue to the rebuilding of a life, we provide a comprehensive model that turns immediate intervention into lifelong independence.
